There is no better way to stabilise dentures than through the placement of dental implants. Implants also remove the need for the denture to cover your palate, restoring speech and taste, two challenges faced by denture wearers.
The procedure is simple, with minimal downtime in most cases, and the effects are dramatic. Patients find they feel more confident, can smile and eat whatever they want again.
In the lower jaw, as few as two dental implants can be used to make a denture almost immobile and with four, either a lower or upper denture can be made to feel very secure.
Once the implants have healed and fused to the jawbone we can connect to the denture in a number of ways, either through a ‘press-stud’ type connection, or using a titanium bar which the dentures then clip onto.
Your dentist can help you to determine which solution is best in your case.
